Hey there, my sweet friends! I just can’t wait to share this with y’all today! Recently, I had this amazing chance to dive into the world of dessert photography. Seriously, y’all, it was an absolute dream come true! Seriously, who wouldn’t love spending their day surrounded by all these mouthwatering treats, ammiright? Today, I’m giving you an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at my Flan with caramel sauce photoshoot, inspired by the colorful and vibrant Dia de los Muertos celebration.
When I began brainstorming ideas for this photoshoot, I knew I had to create something amazing and go beyond a simple photoshoot. This shoot had to be a memorable and heartfelt experience. Dia de los Muertos is a breathtaking Mexican holiday that fills the air with a profound sense of beauty and reverence. It’s such a magical moment when the energy of life mingles with the memories of our loved ones who have passed away. The joyous celebrations, the tender remembrances, and the boundless love permeated the atmosphere—I yearned to encapsulate that very spirit within the frames of my photoshoot.
To do this, I incorporated holiday elements into my styling, like vibrant flowers, colorful textiles, and traditional sugar skulls. These elements not only added a stunning pop of color to the photos but also helped to tell the story behind the dish and the celebration it was inspired by.
One of the biggest challenges I faced during this photoshoot was capturing the Flan’s velvety texture and beautiful presentation. To achieve this, I focused on three key elements: lighting, composition, and styling.
I played around with the delicate harmony of harsh and dramatic lights. I wanted the viewer to just marinate in this shot. By placing the Flan near a white card and using a reflector to bounce light back onto the dish, I created a harsh, dramatic glow highlighting the dessert’s silky texture and rich caramel color.
For me, when it comes to composition, I always say, ‘more is more’—I just love going all out! I chose a vibrant purple background for this shoot to allow the Flan to take center stage. I also experimented with different angles and heights to find the perfect shot showcasing Flan’s delicate layers and caramel sauce drizzle.
Finally, the key to nailing Flan’s presentation was all in detail. I carefully arranged the Dia de los Muertos-inspired elements around the dish, ensuring that they complemented the show’s star rather than competed with it. I also drizzled the caramel sauce over the Flan just before snapping the photo to capture that ooey-gooey, mouthwatering moment.
Capturing the perfect shot during a Flan with caramel sauce photoshoot is about patience, creativity, and love for the dish.
So, I hope this behind-the-scenes look at my Flan with caramel sauce photoshoot inspired you and sparked some ideas for your creative projects! Remember, it’s all about having fun, experimenting, and capturing the beauty in every dish.
