016: Reflections on What I’ve Learned from Past Guests

EPISODE SUMMARY

In Episode 16, being the last episode of 2022, we talk about the first year of The Savory Shot, the guests we’ve met during this time and our reflections. When Mica first started planning this podcast, the goal was to create a space where guests could share stories and experiences, and the listeners could connect with one another on a deeper level. Fear kicked in and she began doubting this start. Pushing this aside, The Savory Shot began! The most impactful thing – connecting with the listeners.

In this episode, we reflect on lessons learned from the listeners and the guests.

Episode Breakdown

  • First Lesson Learned: the meaning of “starting something” with guest Aaron Clift in Episode two.
  • Learning to be bold with Amy Cooper in Episode six.
  • In episode thirteen with Frank Curry and episode nine with Joanie Simon, we learned to embrace failure as an opportunity to learn and grow, and take calculated risks to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
  • Reflecting on The Savory Shots first Instagram post and overcoming the feeling of fear.
  • Learning about the importance of encouraging failure when the opportunity allows, because it can actually be a powerful tool for learning and growth in Episode thirteen with Frank.
  • In episode twelve with Addie Broyles, we learned that networking is a muscle you need to consistently exercise to flex.
  • Thinking about community and doing our part to lift my community, we reflect on the two awesome conversations had with Kristina Wolter from Episode seven and Meika Ejiasi from Episode five.
  • Clay Williams from our last episode, has a great point about the difference between networking and a community.
  • A quick reflection on 2022, and the goals for The Savory Shot in 2023.
  • The Savory Shot will be back on February 8th!
